A little bit of the state of Minas Gerais:
Foundation:The first city,village and capital from the state was Mariana.It was founded on July 16th of 1696 by the bandeirantes paulistas(They were from the state of São Paulo and the Bandeiras were expedictions in the search of gold).It was one of the biggest gold producer city for Portugal in the XVII century and it became the capital due its winning in a contest between other villages which had the objective of seeing which one of them could get more gold. Ouro Preto: It became the next capital in the year of 1823 until 1879 when it finally became Belo Horizonte; The capital is still Belo Horizonte still nowadays.
Libertas quae sera tamen: Is the motto on Minas' flag.It is in Latin and means : Freedom albeit late.

About the 'Uai' word:The people of Minas Gerais oftenly will be seen saying 'Uai' in some of their sentences.That word really doesn't have a meaning but there are some people that say that 'Uai,sô' was created from 'Why sir' since there were some british there,but the truth is that 'Uai' was used in the times of the Minas Gerais Conspiracy as a code between them.So,when somebody asks him what it means he'll just smile at them and say what they always say:'Uai é uai,uai'(Uai means uai,uai).
(So...I shall introduce myself ;w; Idk...I just hate empty journal spaces... First of all; yes I am brazilian and I speak portuguese fluently obviously xD Second thing is...I'm not from that state but I've been learning a lot from it...And I just love Minas with a burning passion Uhhh About pairings I...
